About Us

Kathryn and Zoe are veterinary surgeons with extensive expertise in evidence-based veterinary medicine research methods. They met whilst working at the Centre for Evidence-based Veterinary Medicine, University of Nottingham and now provide high quality evidence-based veterinary medicine consultancy.

Dr Zoe Belshaw

Zoe is an RCVS and European Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Medicine. She has a PhD from the University of Nottingham in canine welfare assessment in veterinary settings. In addition to her extensive clinical and research experience, she has led a range of innovative projects including founding the Vet Record’s “What is your client thinking?” column, and spearheading the production of the internationally adopted BSAVA Triage Tool during COVID-19. In 2020, she was awarded the BSAVA PetSavers Award for contributions to clinical aspects of small animal practice in its widest context by a qualified veterinarian.

Dr Kathryn Wareham

Kathryn is an MRCVS and following some time in practice completed a PhD in biomedical sciences at the University of Sheffield and spent 7 years conducting post-doctoral research in human and veterinary medicine. She has a wealth of experience in quantitative research, structured literature searching, critical appraisal, review writing and report production. She was involved in the development and launch of the BestBETS for Vets evidence syntheses, and has contributed modules to the BSAVA Masters in Clinical Veterinary Research and the EBVM Learning online hub. She is a regular content writer, reviewer and editor for the Veterinary Prescriber platform.
